Paul Weller to play for Record Store Day

Paul Weller is excited to announce that he will be performing at the Rough Trade East store in E1 as part of the Record Store Day celebrations on Saturday April 20th at 8pm.
This comes on the same day as Paul releases two brand new tracks ' Flame-Out! And The Olde Original - as a double a-side single, also as part of Record Store Day.

This will be a fantastic chance to get up close and personal with the Modfather himself.

Paul will be performing a 30 min set in the surrounds of the store. For this once-in-a lifetime show Paul has enlisted young whippersnappers Pete O'Hanlon and Josh McClorey from upcoming Irish group The Strypes who will feature on bass and guitar respectively. The line-up will be completed by drummer Jay Sharrock from Miles Kane's band.

From 8am Tuesday 16th April, there will be 250 wristbands only available from ROUGH TRADE EAST to give away - first come, first served. This wristband will guarantee them entry to Paul Weller's performance only - it will not guarantee queue jumping into the shop throughout the day on RSD.

Before the performance, staff at the shop will have to ask non-wrist-banded customers to leave. Then all wrist-banded people will get in.

Weller's RSD single features the two totally brand new tracks Flame-Out! and The Olde Original which are recorded exclusively for this year's Record Store Day. Destined to be one of the most hotly anticipated releases for the event, the double a-side will be released through Virgin Records as a collectable 7'vinyl on the 20th, with a digital release on the following day available for one month only.

Kings Of Leon to headline Tennent's Vital in August!

Kings Of Leon are set to headline Tennent's Vital on August 14.

The festival takes place at Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast, with further line-up news and details of the second date to be revealed next month.

Tickets go on sale April 12 at 9am [BST].

Of the Kings Of Leon headline set, Nicola McCleery, Head of Marketing for Tennent's NI, commented: "We're incredibly excited that Kings Of Leon will be taking to the stage at the festival this August, as we're sure our fans will be. They're one of the finest bands in the world and a phenomenal live act, and I'm sure they'll treat us to an unmissable set."

Last year's Tennent's Vital event saw sets from Foo Fighters, The Stone Roses, The Black Keys and Florence and the Machine.

Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill recently confirmed to NME that his band's new album will be out in September.

Followill said: "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds. It's like a mix of 'Youth & Young Manhood' and 'Because Of The Times'."

Before the album is released, Kings of Leon will headline this summer's V festival. Taking place over the weekend of August 17-18 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire, the two-day event will see the band take to the main stage along with Beyoncé – which will be her only European festival appearance this year.

They will also play shows in London, Manchester and Birmingham in June and July, staring at London's O2 Arena on June 12 and 13 before playing Manchester Arena on June 24 and 25. The tour then runs to Birmingham's LG Arena on July 9-10.
Why not wear this fantastic T-shirt and stand out from the crowd! It's also on sale!!
